How does copy writing work?
There are 10 different laws when it comes to copywriting.
Law 1. You must learn how people make decisions.
People buy with emotion then justify with logic.
Law 2. You must uncover the selfish benefit.
Put yourself in the customer’s shoes and ask: “What’s in it for me?”
Law 3. You must learn how to tell a great story.
People need a story.
Law 4. You must write like you talk.
Your goal is to be understood, not grammatically correct.
Law 5. You must use their words, not yours.
Ditch the marketing speak. Describe your product the way your customers would.
Law 6. You must write short, choppy copy.
The goal of your first sentence is to get them to read the second sentence. And so on.
Law 7. You must be specific.
Specific words create specific images and specific outcomes.
Law 8. You must nail the headline.
You only get one chance to make a first impression. “On average, five times as many people read the headline as the body copy.”
Law 9. You must back everything up with social proof.
It’s not enough to make a claim about your own product. Show what other people are saying about your product.
Law 10. You must address objections upfront.
Address the elephant in the room before it stampedes you.
Welcome emails are important because they set the tone for the relationship between a brand and its new subscriber, customer, or user.
What makes a welcome email good?
Clear and friendly tone – Sets a warm, approachable vibe that reflects your brand’s personality.
Immediate value – Offers something useful right away, like a discount, tip, or helpful info.
Strong call to action (CTA) – Guides the recipient to take the next step (shop, explore, learn more, etc.).
Visually clean and branded – Matches your brand's look and is easy to read on all devices.
Personalized content – Uses the subscriber’s name or preferences to make the message feel tailored.

Life Update:
This past week, I was up in the mountains with my favorite group of people, doing what I love most. We drove about 33 sports cars down to Knoxville, Tennessee, to take on the Tail of the Dragon for the fourth year in a row with our driving club. This trip has been the highlight of my year for the past four years, and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to go each time. Let me tell you a little about what happened.
The Cruise Down:
We caravanned with about 10 other cars and made it all the way through Ohio when things took an unexpected turn. An 18-year-old driver rear-ended someone in our group, causing a chain reaction where that car then hit another member of our group. Thankfully, no one was hurt! Interestingly, at that moment, my dad and I had fallen behind the group due to heavy traffic. I truly believe God was watching over us—if we had been in that group at the time, the situation could have been much worse. For that, I’m beyond thankful.
Luckily, the trailer that follows our group each year was only 20 minutes behind. They caught up, met us at a gas station, removed the damaged bumper from one of the cars, and got everyone back on the road. Amazingly, both cars that were hit weren’t too badly damaged and were able to complete the trip and hang out with us. Sounds wild, right?
Once we arrived in Knoxville, we got our cars washed, checked into the hotel, unloaded our gear, and headed out for dinner. The next two days were full of driving, and the roads were absolutely perfect. Honestly, I could move there just to drive them more often!
Unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate this year—it rained for most of the trip. But we didn’t let that stop us. We made the best of it and still had SOOOOOO much fun!
